About

I am a wife to my college sweetheart – my partner as life’s adventures continue.  We have four adult children – two actually ours, and two gained by marriage – who give us more joy than they probably could imagine.  As a Christian I am still learning to be more of a Christ follower and less of a church lady.  Small groups of like-minded Christian friends help me in that learning process.

After my faith and family, my passions are reading, writing, various small creative endeavors, and young children.  I run a day care/preschool which keeps me very busy and surrounds me with people. About 16 employees and 100 kids or more and their parents wander through my office daily.  Every day I hear things from them that make me smile and laugh out loud, as well as things to pray about that make me want to cry.   Throw in some extended family members and a couple of cats and dogs and that completes the picture of my daily life.

I believe everyone has a story, and I love to hear them.  I also cherish some quiet time away from all the voices to think about my own stories.  Which is why I started blogging.
I hope to find a few people who enjoy hearing mine and are willing to share their own with me.

  1. Good luck on your blog endeavor! I started mine in the hopes of establishing daily writing habits and it worked. Partly because of it, I have now co-authored and ghostwritten two books and am just beginning to ghostwrite book number 3. Unfortunately, when I write for income, my blog gets little input since I’m so focused on the paid work. Thank you so much for registering with Brokenpenwriter. I will on occasion get back to my poetry and essays, just for fun. In the meantime, please enjoy past writings and keep up your own blogging. I read your stuff and you have a lovely, warm personality that comes through like candle light. Best wishes,

    • Thanks, Cindy. My goal in starting a blog was to write something for it at least once a week. I have not succeeded at that yet, but getting a few things done is still better than my usual procrastination. Meeting other writers through their blogs has been a bonus. I was intrigued by the name of your blog and your “About the Author”, and have enjoyed browsing your thoughtful and thought provoking pieces. Congrats on the the book opportunities!

  2. You have poignant, insightful things to say–all in a lovely voice. I’m pleased you found me so I can add you to my list of special people in this blogging world. 🙂
